Columbia Plateau Trail – Easy Hike – Jan 1st 2023 @ 1pm

Columbia Plateau Trail – easy hike

Guided by Parks staff and volunteers, participants will walk south along the Columbia Plateau Trail to the railroad underpass at Minnie Creek, about ¾ mile each way. Along the way, participants will have beautiful views of Fish Lake. Snacks will be provided at the trailhead. Dogs are allowed (on leash), and the hike is ADA and stroller accessible.

Round Trip: ~1.5 miles

When: Sunday, January 1, 2023 @ 1:00 pm

Where to Meet: Participants will meet at Fish Lake Trailhead, adjacent to Fish Lake Regional Park in Spokane County near Cheney: eastern terminus of S Myers Park Rd, 800 feet east of the intersection with Cheney Spokane Road.

Things to Bring: hiking boots, shoe traction cleats (Yaktrax or other), waterproof or water-resistant boots, sunglasses, sunscreen, snowshoes, gators or waterproof pants, or trekking poles.

Additional Info: Group size is limited to 25 participants.  January 1st is a State Park Free Day; a Discover Pass is not required.

Pine Bluff Overlook – Challenging Hike – Jan 1st 2023 @ 1pm

Pine Bluff Overlook - challenging hike

Guided by Parks staff and volunteers, participants will walk south on trails 403/25 to the Pine Bluff overlook, then loop back along trails 401/25, passing through Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir forests and experiencing beautiful views of Deep Creek. This hike has significant elevation changes and is considered moderately difficult. Snacks will be provided at the trailhead. Dogs must be on leashes; the hike is not ADA or stroller accessible.

 

Round Trip: ~3.5 miles with 600 ft elevation gain
